Can
HDS convert the data from my current system?
Every data conversion operation presents it's own unique challenges;
volume of data, time allowed for conversion, etc. Because this is
the nature of data conversions, each one is considered on an individual
basis. HDS can do data conversion from your present system, though
usually, we discourage it. We take data integrity seriously. The
longer you've used a system, the greater the chance that records
have become outdated, corrupt or otherwise invalid. We prefer that
every MedLedger™ installation begins with clean data input
— reducing the possibility of errors in every phase of operation,
and reducing the possibility that your claims will reject.

What
if I have a hardware failure?
If you lease hardware from HDS, often the HDS support staff can
get you up and running in minutes over the telephone. If necessary,
an HDS support specialist will come to your office to repair your
computer, usually the same day. HDS is not responsible for hardware
maintenance or repair on any equipment not leased from us. However,
we do perform service calls for which you will be billed the normal
service rate.

Can
I use HDS computers to go on the Internet when not using MedLedger™?
Yes, but be aware that HDS is not contractually responsible for
any damage you may incur due to unauthorized downloads or other
extracurricular internet activity. While your practice and patient
data is well protected by our strong security standards (under our
ASP configuration only), the computer itself is not immune to viruses
that may be spread through email attachments, downloaded files,
etc.
